Common faults in automotive air conditioning system pipelines

The refrigeration system pipeline is blocked or leaking, resulting in insufficient or no cooling of the system. Common faults include:

(1) The bending and deformation of the pipe result in poor or complete blockage of refrigerant circulation;

(2) Leakage is caused by damage or looseness at the pipe joint.

Dismantling of Automotive Air Conditioning System Pipelines

Attention should be paid when disassembling pipelines：

（1）When loosening, use two wrenches to operate to avoid damaging the pipe fittings；

（2）The removed pipes should be immediately sealed with plugs or cloth to prevent contamination inside the pipes.

Maintenance content of automotive air conditioning system pipelines

The main maintenance contents of the refrigeration system pipeline include：

(1) Check for looseness and leakage at the pipeline joints. If there is looseness, tighten them. If there is still leakage after tightening with the specified torque, the pipe must be replaced;

(2) Check the pipeline for dents, bends, deformations, ruptures, and damaged threads at the pipe joints. If so, replace the pipe;

(3) Check whether the pipeline is dirty. If so, rinse it with anhydrous alcohol and wait for it to dry thoroughly before installation.

Note: do not use compressed air to clean the pipe.

Installation of automotive air conditioning system pipeline

When installing the refrigeration system pipeline, also use two wrenches to tighten according to the specified tightening torque. If it is too loose, it is easy to cause loose sealing of the pipeline, and if it is too tight, it is easy to damage the thread of the pipe joint. During installation, attention shall also be paid to:

（1）Use the matching O-ring, and be careful not to let the O-ring fall and bruise;

（2）During installation, coat the O-ring with a little refrigeration lubricating oil;

（3）Before connecting the metal pipe and hose, apply some refrigeration lubricating oil on the pipe joint;

（4）For the installed pipeline, check whether the pipeline layout is correct and whether other parts and components may be scratched with it.

After installation, confirm that there is no leakage, vacuum, fill refrigerant and test the performance of the air conditioning system.
